The Social environment profile of Laval (SEPL) is a comprehensive report produced by Curbcut in collaboration with key regional partners. This project provides an in-depth analysis of Laval’s social landscape, exploring a wide range of sociodemographic issues, from living conditions and social inequalities to community participation and local support systems.
Commissioned by the partners of Laval’s Politique régionale en développement social (PRDS), the SEPL was developed as a strategic tool to guide the next phase of the region’s social development action plan. Through this report, decision-makers and community stakeholders gain a clearer understanding of the factors shaping social well-being in Laval, enabling more informed decisions and targeted initiatives.
The project was collaborative, with valuable contributions from local partners who shared their expertise and data. In particular, the City of Laval and the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) played a crucial role by providing essential datasets to support the analysis.
Beyond the static report, the SEPL is accompanied by a dynamic online platform that offers interactive visualizations of the findings. This platform, accessible at curbcut.ca/laval, allows users to explore the data more intuitively and track key social indicators over time.
